Morning Skate Updates: 1/10/15

Johnson Starts: Chad Johnson will start in goal for the Islanders tonight. Johnson’s last game was on Dec. 23, a 21-save, 3-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

Capuano on Johnson: He knows that Jaro has been playing well and we have to go with the hot hand, but he’s been working extremely hard. He has a good mindset, a good focus. We want him to go in there tonight play a simple game, but an aggressive and competitive game.

Grabovski Out: Mikhail Grabovski (lower body) will not play tonight. The Islanders forward left Friday’s contest in the second period and did not return.

Clutterbuck In: Cal Clutterbuck draws back into the lineup for the injured Grabovski. Clutterbuck missed Friday’s game with a minor injury and was only considered day-to-day.

Josh Bailey will start the game alongside John Tavares and Kyle Okposo. Bailey scored the Islanders first goal Friday, while Tavares scored the tying goal and OT winner.

Capuano: Josh has got some chemistry with those two guys and I thought he played well in Jersey last night.

Back-to-Back: Both teams are playing the second game of back-to-back sets as the Blue Jackets were in Toronto last night. the Isles are 6-1-0 in the front-end and 5-1-0 on the back end of back-to-backs this season.
