Islanders defenseman Freddy Meyer has come back for a second summer to travel with the Islanders I.C.E. Tour as they visit local camps and summer recreation programs around Long Island. Today Meyer visited the children that participate in the Marjorie Post Park Summer Recreation Program in Massapequa. The children were eagerly awaiting Meyer’s arrival. They also could not wait to see the giant Islanders interactive inflatable games set up. Well over 200 campers came down to meet Freddy and get his autograph. The kids were also treated to a game of street hockey. Each group that came got a chance to play with Meyer. “It is great coming back to Long Island and visiting with the young fans. I signed some autographs and played a little street hockey with the kids,” said Meyer. Sparky the Dragon was also on site to meet the campers. Everyone in attendance went home with some great autographs and other Islanders prizes.
