MEMOIRS OF AN ISLANDERS FAN: Law Enforcement Appreciation Night

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

Submit a story about your favorite moment/experience from the first week of this season and it may be published in an upcoming issue of Islanders Illustrated

The Islanders have introduced ISLANDERS ILLUSTRATED, the new game program distributed free of charge at a select number of home games throughout the 2007-08 season. Here's how Islanders fans can participate!

Each edition features not just content produced within the hallowed walls of the Nassau Coliseum executive offices, but also includes contributions from you, the fans. The unique section will be known as "Memoirs Of An Islanders Fan" and will include stories written solely by the fans.

For Law Enforcement Night on October 27, when the Islanders host the Carolina Hurricanes at the Nassau Coliseum, we're asking fans to send us a story about their experience at the Nassau Coliseum during one - or all - of the first three games this season. It was an exciting beginning to the season from Christie Brinkley dropping the puck at the Home Opener to Kevin Connolly dueling it out with Mike Bossy in a shootout to Loudville to the Islanders taking down the Rangers in their first meeting of the season. We want to hear stories about your experience.

Throughout the season, check back to for a new topic of discussion for another edition of "Memoirs of an Islanders Fan."

  • The deadline for this submission is October 23.
  • Include your name and hometown, so you can earn the well-deserved byline credit in Islanders Illustrated.
  • To ensure that your entry is received properly, copy and paste the story directly into the e-mail. Please DO NOT send any attachments.
  • Please enter only ONE submission for each topic.

Good luck, and have fun!
