Matt Martin Suspended Two Games

The National Hockey League announced today that Islanders forward Matt Martin has been assessed a two-game suspension for his hit on Phoenix Coyote forward Vernon Fiddler in the first period of Saturday’s game.

Martin was assessed a minor charging penalty on the play. He will now sit for the Islanders’ home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday, Dec. 22 and for their road game against New Jersey on Thursday, Dec. 23.
