Making Cuts

by Dyan LeBourdais / New York Islanders

The Islanders current training camp roster, which sits at 50, will need to be cut to 23 players by opening night.

Regarding any major cuts, Islanders Head Coach Jack Capuano told the media that he would have a conversation with General Manager Garth Snow following tonight’s game against the Devils. They will discuss who will be making the trip to Calgary for Tuesday’s exhibition game and furthermore, when they’d likely make cuts.

However, Capuano said he’s leaning towards a cut following the team’s return from Calgary.
