Live Updates - Islanders vs. Penguins

7:00 p.m. - Nassau Coliseum - Uniondale, NY

2:52: Marty Reasoner goes to the box for holding.

2:58: Pittsburgh scores right off the draw to make it 1-0. James Neal took a pass in the right circle and quickly fired it past Evgeni Nabokov blocker-side.

6:21: Referees are going to take a look at a play from about a minute ago. Puck may have crossed over the Islanders goal line before Andrew MacDonald made a diving play to clear it out. Penguins celebrated at the time but no one made a call and play carried on.

6:21: Nothing definitive on the replay, so they rule no goal. Sidney Crosby's shot got lost in Nabokov's gear and MacDonald swiped it with his hand as he went down to the ice. That was pretty close.

13:20: Robert Bortuzzo just hit iron on a transition play. Still 1-0 Pens. Top two Islanders lines generating chances, but shots are NYI 5, PIT 4

14:40: Michael Grabner draws an interference minor on Craig Adams. Islanders first power play of the night coming up after the TV timeout.

16:40: Isles are 0-for-1 on the PP. Had a couple of early opportunities, but Marc-Andre Fleury was equal to the task. Second half of the man advantage was not as threatening.

17:22: And this one just got heated. Crowd is officially involved. Brian Strait draws a trip on Simon Despres. There were some extra-cirriculars after the play, but no further infractions.

18:33: Moulson's shot from the right circle was fumbled around and went under Fleury's pads. Referee blew the whistle, much to the chagrin of Isles fans after John Tavares put the loose puck in the net. No goal. Still 1-0.

19:46: Matt Martin and Tanner Glass just went at it in the Islanders zone. Five each for fighting. Both got some shots in before the referees got in the middle.

19:55: Neal goes to the box for roughing with five seconds remaining. Isles will get a quick chance before the intermission.

End 1st: PIT 1 NYI 0. Shots: NYI 12 PIT 6. Islanders will have 1:55 of PP time to start the second.

2nd Period:
2:55: Crosby appears to have taken a shot to the face. He just went down the tunnel back to the dressing room.

7:38: Crosby is back on the bench at the break. Fans not impressed.

8:10: Another power play for NYI. Despres off for interference.

10:32: Fleury just made a robbery on Matt Martin. The goaltender dropped down as Martin looked to shoot from the right circle. When Martin went high, Fleury windmilled and got a piece with his glove, knocking it out of play. Chris Kunitz gets called for tripping Hamonic, and it's the Isles' fifth PP of the night.

13:27: Hooking called on Neal. Isles power play gets a do-over. Fleury has been solid so far.

16:00: No goals on the power play, but Pittsburgh comes right back to score off the rush. 2-0 PIT. Kunitz entered the zone and fed across for Despres, who one-timed it pas Nabokov's glove.

18:59: Brian Strait penalized for holding the stick.

End 2nd: PIT 2 NYI 0. Shots: NYI 24 PIT 14.

3rd Period
1:44: PIT 3-0. Goal in transition. Matt Cooke pass from center to the left side for Brandon Sutter. Nabokov got a piece, but it crept over the line.

3:14: Isles get one back and it's 3-1. Okposo's shot from the right was blocked. On the second attempt, he fed it across the crease to Michael Grabner, who scored an easy one.

3:49: It's 3-2, and the crowd is right back in this one. Shot from the point was blocked, and the rebound came out to the slot. Brad Boyes corralled it and spun to the left wing, creating an open angle to shoot the puck behind Fleury. Timeout Pittsburgh.

8:10: Still 3-2 Pittsburgh. Shots: NYI 28 PIT 19

13:00: Grabner took a hit in the Penguins zone and skated gingerly to the Isles bench. He's not leaving through the tunnel, so that's a good sign.

13:32: Chris Kunitz to the box for a late hit on MacDonald, who needs help getting off the ice from the trainer. Obvious understatement: This is a big power play for the Islanders.
