3rd Period:
12:44 - WSH goal. Evgeny Kuznetsov beats a sprawling Nielsen, outwaits Halak and goes high. 2-1 Capitals

6:00 - Halak leaves his net to play the puck, but the puck hits the stanchion and pops out to Jay Beagle. Beagle has AN OPEN NET, but Halak just gets back in time, stretches out the pad and makes a HUGE SAVE!

3:13 - NYI GOAL! Frans Nielsen puts the Islanders on the board. He squeaks one through Braden Holtby's five-hole. 1-1!

2nd Intermission: Capitals 1, Islanders 0. Capitals lead shots 21-7

2nd Period:
18:35 - WSH goal. Joel Ward. Halak stops Brooks Orpik's point shot, but Ward slides it under him before he can cover up. Shots are 20-6 Capitals. 1-0 Capitals.

15:29 - Questionable hit by Ovechkin on Thomas Hickey.

11:54 - Halak contorts his body for a huge save on Curtis Glencross. Halak was down and Glencross was alone in front of the net, but he swept over and came up with a gigantic stop.

9:54 - Isles finally turn the tide with some O-zone time. They don't generate a shot, but Brock Nelson has a good chance, skating out from the side of the net and just sliding it past the far post. Capitals call time out.

6:45 - Timeout Isles (following a Hickey icing)

5:01 - Capitals with more pressure and a lot of extended zone time. Thankfully, they ice the puck shortly after, halting the momentum.

1st Intermission: No score. Capitals lead shots 10-3

1st Period:
18:00 - Capitals with some tremendous pressure and the best chances of the period. Somehow, the puck stays out. Shots are 9-3 Caps

14:11 - Joel Ward gets a shot off on Halak, but he covers up. Shots are 5-3 Caps.

7:00 - Alex Ovechkin goes 1-on-1 with Nick Leddy. Leddy swats the puck below the goal line where Johnny Boychuk meets Ovechkin with a big hit.

2:42 - Halak makes a couple of saves early to weather the Capitals push. Isles have moved play into the Capitals end.

0:00 - This is what we live for. Game 7 is a go!
