1st Period

4:33: Nielsen just hit the goalpost to the left of Tuukka Rask on a one-timer.

8:53: Evgeni Nabokov with his first big save, on Dennis Seidenberg coming down the right wing.

9:26: Bruins think they scored, but there was a scramble and Nabokov made at least three great saves. On replay, the puck never crossed the line, but it was also never under control before the whistle blew. In any event, we're still scoreless.

11:24: Jaromir Jagr redirected a Gregory Campbell feed in the low slot, but Nabokov is there to keep Boston off the board.

12:27: After a couple of Boston chances, Travis Hamonic is down on the ice. He lost his footing and went down awkwardly. The trainer is out on te ice. Hamonic isn't putting any weight on his left leg and is being helped off the ice.

12:27: Side note from that play: David Krejci goes off the tripping. Islanders head to first power play of the day.

14:27: Isles had a handful of chances early, including a high shot from Andrew MacDonald. But the last 40 seconds was non-threatening, and the Isles are 0-for-1 on the advantage.

16:48: We have a Travis Hamonic sighting. He's back on the ice. Tough as nails, that guy.

18:54: Quick wraparound by John Tavares, but Rask squares up, makes the save and covers up the mess.

19:39: Josh Bailey picks a corner on a rush and it's 1-0 Isles. That may have hit a defender on the way in. Mark Streit took the line and dropped a pass for Bailey. It went just inside the elbow to give the Isles the lead just before the break.

End 1st: NYI 1 BOS 0. Shots: NYI 9 BOS 16.

2nd Period
1:50: Islanders had the puck hemmed in for the entire first 1:45 or so of the second period. I think Kyle Okposo was out there for the whole thing. Lots of shots - maybe 4 or 5. Still 1-0 Isles though.

2:15: Brad Boyes goes away for delay of game. Puck shot over the glass. First PP of the game for Boston.

3:29: One-timer from Seguin on the left side, and Nabokov slides across to make the save.

3:41: Seguin with a PPG to tie it at 1-1. Campbell fed it across the slot, as the Bruins had numbers down low. Seguin had the slightest window to Nabokov's right, and found the space. Casey Cizikas blocked a shot moments before and hobbles off the ice. Zdeno Chara with the second assist.

10:02: Matt Moulson thinks he's scored, and if he didn't, it's an incredible sequence by Rask. Looks like no goal. Back and forth play between Moulson and John Tavares. Moulson had two cracks at it from in front, and Rask, laid out, somehow got in the way of both. He's been at his best in the second period. Still 1-1 in Boston.

13:12: Bailey gets his second of the game, giving the Islanders a 2-1 lead. He made a great play on the forecheck. On a 2-on-2 rush with Okposo, Bailey elected to shoot. It hit Rask near the shoulder on the way in, trickling across the goal line just before the Boston defenseman could clear it.

15:08: Nabokov makes a robbery on Chris Kelly right in front on a one-timer. Keeps this one 2-1.

17:52: Islanders have a 16-7 edge in shots this period.

End 2nd: NYI 2 BOS 1. Shots: NYI 28 BOS 24 (19-8 in the second period).

3rd Period
5:30: Colin McDonald's shot from the left side was stopped, but Michael Grabner had a terrific rebound opportunity as a result. However, it hit a stick, keeping out what looked like a sure goal.

11:49: Frans Nielsen takes a hard hit along the boards, and he skates off slowly. He's staying on the bench though. Streit took a stick to the face a minute ago, so the ice bin in the visitor's training room is going to be empty after tonight. Still 2-1 Isles. Shots: NYI 32 BOS 29.

14:23: Bailey with a great chance for the hat trick. Okposo centered a pass on an attack and left Bailey all alone in front. A defenseman may have gotten a stick on that one, but Rask ultimately made the save, keeping Bailey at two goals.

18:37: Nabokov with a big save to stop the clock off Ference's point shot. Nathan Horton redirected the shot. Faceoff to Nabby's right. Rask is off for an extra skater.
