LIGHTHOUSE INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders
Let the games begin!

The New York Islanders are hosting the 2010 Lighthouse International Tournament as teams from Finland, China, Japan and the United States converge on the Nassau Coliseum ice.

The tournament comes on the heels of the Charles Wang Project Hope Tournament that the Junior Islanders attended over the Christmas and New Year’s break.  The Junior Islanders won the tournament but took home more than just a trophy but an experience that they will never forget.

Thursday starts the Lighthouse International Tournament and it will culminate in the championship game Saturday at 2 p.m.  The kids from foreign countries will have the chance to not only skate on NHL ice, but attend a New York Knicks game and visit some of the major tourist hot-spots throughout New York City.
