If you were born in 1999 that means two things:
1) You survived Y2K at a young age and
2) You are eligible to play for the Junior Islanders.
There will be a two-day mini-camp on Monday, Aug. 29, from 6:30-8 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Islanders Iceworks in Syosset.

The camp is for dedicated hockey players who were born in 1999 and want to play for the Junior Islanders, an elite Pee Wee Level team that will compete in the 53rd Quebec Pee Wee Tournament from Feb. 9-19, 2012 at the Pepsi Colisee in Quebec City.
Former Islanders forward and current Long Island resident Benoit Hogue will head-up the coaching staff.
Select participants will be asked to return and tryout for the Junior Islanders in late September or early October. The date for the tryout will be announced shortly.
Interested players must bring proof of birth date, proof of USA Hockey registration and tryout fee of $85 for the two-day camp.
Iceworks is located at 175 Underhill Blvd, Syosset, NY 11791.
