After a CBA-mandated day off Wednesday and posing for the annual team picture on Thursday morning, the New York Islanders were back on the ice for practice at Northwell Health Ice Center.
Casey Cizikas sat out Thursday's skate as he continues to rehab an upper-body injury. The Isles fourth-line center has missed two straight games and won't play in the team's back-to-back set with Toronto and New Jersey on Friday and Saturday.

"He got hit hard in Washington and has been really stiff," Head Coach Doug Weight said. "The way he plays the game it's not going to go away that easy. He's got hit a couple more times and delivered some hits and wasn't comfortable right now so they had to look at some things to make sure everything was alright. I think everything is fine, but he won't be playing on the weekend."

Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk are both expected to be back in the lineup on Friday after sitting out Tuesday's game. Boychuk was given a de facto maintenance day by Weight and didn't make the trip to Ottawa. Leddy was given a night off to heal a small issue, which Weight said has gotten better with a few days of rest.
Scott Mayfield is expected to play in one of the Islanders' two weekend games. Mayfield returned on Tuesday after a 22-game absence, so Weight isn't pushing his big blueliner through a back-to-back set coming back from a lower-body injury.
Alan Quine was ruled out for Friday's game, but could be back in the lineup as early as Saturday or next Tuesday. Quine has been out since Feb. 23 with a lower-body injury.
