The New York Islanders returned Scott Mayfield
to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Monday morning. The defenseman was recalled on Tuesday April 5 and played three games for the Islanders, scoring his first NHL goal on Saturday night against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Islanders also returned Bracken Kearns, Alan Quine and Ross Johnston to the Sound Tigers, as all three were emergency recalls. Kearns and Quine played on Saturday and Sunday, with Quine scoring his first-career goal in his NHL debut on Saturday. Johnston, who made his NHL debut on Sunday, only played one of the two weekend games.
The Sound Tigers have three games this week, playing Portland on Friday, Albany on Saturday and will finish their regular season on Sunday, April 17 against Providence.
