Isles Day-To-Day: Practice Updates 11/2

The Islanders tried out new lines at Wednesday's practice

Shane Prince practiced on the top line with John Tavares and Josh Bailey on Wednesday, as the Islanders continued to try different line combinations.

"Right now we're still trying to find that," head coach Jack Capuano said. "[Prince] played great in the third period and the kid line, we put them back together and they were really good too in the third. I just think we have to try to generate some chemistry. Guys like playing with certain guys too and you're trying to find the best fit."

The kid line refers to Anders Lee, Brock Nelson and Ryan Strome, who were a trio at Wednesday's practice. That line was a good point producer for the Islanders in the 2014-15 season and while they're not the youngest guys on the roster anymore, Capuano is hoping they can rekindle their scoring touch.

Alan Quine practiced with veterans Andrew Ladd and Jason Chimera on Wednesday, suggesting he may be back in the lineup on Thursday night, though Capuano didn't commit to his lineup.

Mathew Barzal , who has strep throat according to Capuano, practiced as an extra on Casey Cizikas' line. Anthony Beauvillier practiced as an extra on Nelson's line.
