Isles Day to Day: Kuhnhackl Practices

Tom Kuhnhackl returned to practice after two maintenance days, plus Barry Trotz's media scrum

After taking two straight maintenance days, Tom Kuhnhackl rejoined the Islanders at Wednesday's practice at Northwell Health Ice Center.

While Kuhnhackl returned, Leo Komarov missed his third straight practice, as he's still day to day recovering from an illness. Komarov's absence meant that Cole Bardreau, who was recalled from Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon, continued to skate with the team.

Casey Cizikas practiced with the Islanders for a second straight day, a good sign as the Isles center hadn't participated in a team skate since Oct. 8. He's still currently on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

With Cizikas back at practice, Head Coach Barry Trotz fiddled with his practice lines. Josh Bailey took a trial run alongside Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee, while Derick Brassard rotated from center to wing alongside Brock Nelson and Anthony Beauvillier.
