The New York Islanders recalled six players from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Sunday, bringing up Michael Dal Colle
, Scott Mayfield
, Bracken Kearns
, Justin Florek
, Christopher Gibson
and Marc-Andre Cliché.
It’s unlikely they will see playoff action, but Head Coach Jack Capuano said it’s important for young players like Dal Colle, the Islanders’ 2014 first-round pick, to get a sense of the playoff pace.
“You get an idea of where your game is and what you need to do,” Capuano said. “It’s a great learning curve when they come up. A few guys that we’ve had in the past, whether it’s one game or five games or 10 games, they know exactly what their deficiencies are and what they have to do to work on in the offseason.”
Capuano said Josh Bailey would skate with the Sound Tigers’ call-ups on Sunday.
