Travis Hamonic missed the Islanders practice on Monday.

The defenseman suffered a lower-body injury in the Islanders' 2-1 shootout loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night.

"He's a tough kid, so for him to be getting checked out, there could be something there," Capuano said. "We'll know more hopefully by the end of the day once he sees our doctor."

Hamonic has 12 points (2G, 10A) in 35 games this season and is averaging the second most icetime per game (20:49).

Adam Pelech skated with Leddy at Monday's practice.
