Michael Dal Colle, who has started the season on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, and Oliver Wahlstrom, who was named to the Islanders taxi squad, joined the team for practice on Tuesday morning at Northwell Health Ice Center.

"He's very close," Head Coach Barry Trotz said of Dal Colle's status. "It's been a process without exhibition games. We're doing things in practice - Wahlstrom was in the group today - we'll probably include more of the taxi squad group from now on. I thought it was the right decision to pick a group to start with and let it sit. We have good competition. It was the right decision to go with what we started with based on what we saw and what we thought we needed. Now, it's a little bit of competition...Going forward
at Nassau Coliseum, as they gutted out a hard-earned, bounce-back victory, following their uncharacteristic 5-0 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday.
Head Coach Barry Trotz noted that he would maintain the same lineup against Boston that had suited up in the 5-0 blanking from the Rangers in order to allow the group a chance to reprieve.
"We're not going to be perfect every night, but I wanted to get the response from the group," Trotz said following the Boston win. "It wasn't our best game [against the Rangers], but it wasn't as bad. It was all indiviudal stuff, it was a mindset that bothered me more than anything. I thought our mindset was much better after the first period [against Boston]. Once we got there, I thought we were fine."
