Isles Day to Day: Bellows Clears Protocol, Chara Skates

Kieffer Bellows cleared COVID-19 protocol and joined the Islanders optional morning skate on Thursday morning, Head Coach Barry Trotz confrmed.
Bellows entered the protocol on Nov. 21. Trotz said Bellows would not dress for Thursday's game against the San Jose Sharks, as the winger needs additional ice time to ramp back up. Trotz also confirmed that Zdeno Chara, who entered protocol on Nov. 23, skated on his own at Northwell Health Ice Center.

"[Bellows] won't play. It's his first time on the ice," Trotz said. "Chara skated on his own. He will need a day or two. Those two guys are making their way back, but will not be in the lineup tonight."

Bellows has one assist in five games this season. Chara has two assists in 15 games with the Islanders this season with 33 hits and 15 blocked shots.
Josh Bailey, Andy Greene, Ross Johnston, Anders Lee and Adam Pelech have all cleared COVID-19 protocol. Casey Cizikas is currently still in protocol.
