Barzal-DTD

After leaving Game 5 with an injury, Mat Barzal is "trending in the right direction," for Game 6, Head Coach Barry Trotz said on Wednesday.
Trotz said he had "moderate" concern about Barzal's availability for Game 6, but said everything was trending in the right direction and he hoped to have more specifics on Thursday.

Flyers captain Claude Giroux caught Barzal with a high stick near the eye late in the Isles' 4-3 OT loss on Tuesday night, forcing the Islanders' center out of the late stages of the game. JG Pageau took shifts alongside Anders Lee and Jordan Eberle in Barzal's absence. Barzal has 11 points (4G, 7A) in 14 postseason games, which is tied for second in team scoring with Anthony Beauvillier and Brock Nelson.
"With Mat, everyone sees what he brings, he's got that game-changing ability, elite speed and the ability to create plays and that would be missed," Cal Clutterbuck said. "We'll see where he's at tomorrow and go from there, but we have capable guys that can fill in too."
