Islanders Trade Gervais To Tampa Bay For Future Considerations

The New York Islanders announced today that defenseman Bruno Gervais has been traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for future considerations.
Gervais, 26, recorded six assists in 53 games last season with the Islanders. In 331 career NHL games, all with the Islanders, the Longueuil, QC, native has scored 9 goals and 59 assists for 68 points. The Islanders selected Gervais in the sixth round, 182nd overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. In 134 American Hockey League games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Gervais posted 72 points (25 goals, 47 assists).
