Donating blood is a profound act that helps save lives. Approximately every two seconds, a patient in the United States needs blood. That’s why your blood donation through the Red Cross is so important. A blood donation may help save up to three lives and it only takes about an hour of time. It is the blood on the shelves today that helps save lives tomorrow.
The Red Cross blood drive will take place in the Lower Box Office of the Coliseum. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by visiting redcrossblood.org
and using sponsor code 15930. All presenting donors will also have the opportunity to win an overnight package that includes four (4) Islanders game tickets and overnight accommodations. Additionally, each presenting donor will receive a voucher for a free entree from Moe’s Southwest Grill, a Monro Muffler coupon good for two great offers and much more!
In June, the Islanders and American Red Cross announced a three-year partnership to help save lives. The Islanders committed to hosting four Red Cross blood drives each year over the next three years, potentially saving more than 4,000 lives of hospital patients in need. That partnership kicked off at this year’s Draft Party at the Coliseum where over 275 pints of blood were collected, setting a new team record.About the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross has been a primary supplier of lifesaving blood products in the United States for more than 50 years.
