The sponsorship and sales staff at the Islanders are also making big strides during the summer months. The NHL has announced that the Islanders are seventh in new season ticket sales for 2008-09. The Islanders have sold 750 new season tickets compared to 200 at the same time last year.
Along with season ticket sales, the revamped Islanders Business Club is well on its way to reaching its limit of 1,000 members. Applications are coming in fast and furious, with membership expected to reach capacity by summer's end.
"Response to the Islanders Business Club has been very brisk since the June 4th Open House, where we launched our new home," said Executive Director of the Islanders Business Club Mike Bossy. "Every day brings us face to face with new companies eager to become members. We're launching a new website with a brand new look and feel and an updated membership directory. It's been an exciting summer so far for the IBC, and I expect it to only get better."
