Dobson

The New York Islanders announced today that defenseman Noah Dobson has signed a three-year contract.
Dobson, 22, led all Islanders defensemen in goals (13), assists (38) and points (51) last season during his third NHL campaign. He led all Islanders in power-play points (22), ranked second overall in assists and third in points. Dobson led all Islanders skaters in both total ice time (1716:52) and time on ice per game (21:28).

In 160 career NHL games with the Islanders, Dobson has 72 points (17 goals, 55 assists). He's added seven assists in 20 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The Islanders selected Dobson in the first round (12th overall) of the 2018 National Hockey League Draft. The Summerside, Prince Edward Island native totaled 95 points (24 goals, 71 assists) in 130 career junior games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 2017-18, Dobson scored 69 points (17 goals, 52 assists) in 67 games with Acadie-Bathurst and added 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 20 playoff games to help the Titans win their first Memorial Cup. He was named to both the QMJHL and Memorial Cup All-Star teams. In his final season of junior hockey, Dobson scored 52 points (15 goals, 37 assists) between Acadie-Bathurst and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Dobson was named the QMJHL's Playoff MVP after scoring 29 points (8 goals, 21 assists) and claimed his second Memorial Cup.
