While they’re on the ice, the Islanders’ entire focus is on winning the hockey game. But off the ice, the players know there are bigger things in life, like school and getting an education. This year, the team will participate in Islanders School Day on November 16th.
The Islanders want all elementary school principals, teachers and students to get their schools involved in the big event! For this special one-day event, the entire team will visit local elementary schools to discuss teamwork, the importance of education, and the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices.
To sign your school up for this unique opportunity, have your school representatives send us an email with the following information:
- School name and address
- Number of students enrolled at the school
- School contact (include name, phone number and email address)
- Why the students in your school deserve this assembly. Be sure to give examples of how your school works together as a team to accomplish goals and to make a difference in the community.
- How does your school show their Islanders team spirit? Include a picture to show us.
All submissions are due by October 28th. All selected schools will be notified in a timely manner to allow enough time to set up for the assembly on November 16th.
