Each Monday, newyorkislanders.com will feature three top performances from the deep pool of Islanders prospects.
3. Ryan Strome
– Last Monday, Strome was invited to Canada’s Junior National Team’s Selection Camp. This week, the Isles fifth overall pick netted three points (1g/2a) in three games for the Niagara IceDogs. – The Spokane Chiefs defenseman was also invited to the Canada’s Junior Team Selection Camp and celebrated with another solid offensive week. The Spruce Grove, Alta, native scored six points (3g/3a) in four games dating back to a Nov. 30 5-2 victory over the Red Deer Rebels. The Chiefs went 2-1-1 this week and Kichton made a strong case to be considered for the World Juniors. He now has 27 points (6g/21a) in 25 games. 1. Brock Nelson
– Nelson scored four goals in two games this weekend for the University of North Dakota in a weekend series against Alaska-Anchorage. He added an assist to total five points in two games, and has 22 points (14g/8a) in 16 games overall. That’s good for 11th in the NCAA, first on the Fighting Sioux and in the WCHA. Nelson has helped lead UND to its current four-game winning streak.
