Ho-Sang’s Six Point Week Keeps Niagara Rolling


Joshua Ho-Sang and the Niagara Ice Dogs of the OHL are riding a six-game winning streak after a perfect week. The forward tallied six points (two goals, four assists) during the three-game span starting Tuesday in Sudbury. Ho-Sang scored a pair of goals as the Ice Dogs defeated the Wolves 7-1. On Thursday, Ho-Sang netted three helpers as Niagara outlasted the Barrie Colts 6-5. Concluding the week on Saturday, the Toronto native chipped in one assist and was a plus-four as the Ice Dogs defeated the Ottawa 67’s 8-3. The Islanders selected Ho-Sang in the first round, 28th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.  

Robbie Russo Gets the Job Done for Notre Dame


Robbie Russo recorded three assists in the longest game in NCAA D1 hockey history on Friday, as Notre Dame fell to the University of Massachusetts 4-3. The game lasted 151:42, or nearly eight periods. Notre Dame rebounded with wins on Saturday and Sunday to eliminate UMass in the best-of-three series. Russo finished with six total points (one goal, five assists) in three games over the weekend. Notre Dame will take on UMass-Lowell next weekend in the best-of-three Hockey East Quarterfinals.

Bridgeport Sound Tigers:  22-29-6-1, 5th in Northeast Division, 15th in Eastern Conference

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers snapped a 10-game winless streak on Saturday, beating the Worcester Sharks 4-3. Harry Zolnierczyk and Dustin Jeffrey had a goal and an assist each, while Sebastian Collberg and Carson McMilan also netted goals. Before snapping the streak, the Sound Tigers fell 2-1 to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Friday night in Allentown, PA. Kevin Poulin made 25 saves on 27 shots while Dustin Jeffrey scored the lone Sound Tiger goal. 

Sound Tigers Acquire Stevenson

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers acquired forward Dyson Stevenson from the Portland Pirates in exchange for defenseman Matt Lashoff on March 3rd. Stevenson has spent most of the year with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL recording 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) in 46 games.

Stockton Thunder: 17-41-1, 7th in Pacific Division, 14th in Western Conference

The Idaho Steelheads swept the Stockton Thunder in three games over the weekend. Cody Reichard made 51 saves on Wednesday night, but the Steelheads found the back of the net seven times en route to a 7-2 win. On Friday, Jack Combs scored his 24th goal of the season in a 4-1 Thunder loss. Adam Phillips and Klarc Wilson scored in a 6-2 loss to the Steelheads Saturday. Stockton will finish up its season-high seven game road trip in Ontario, CA Wednesday night.
