Michael Dal Colle scores 11 points in three games

Michael Dal Colle helped the Oshawa Generals maintain the top spot in the OHL’s Eastern Conference and continue their eight-game winning streak after collecting 11 points in three games last week. The fifth-overall pick in June’s draft scored two goals and added three assists in a 7-2 thrashing of the Mississauga Steelheads on Wednesday and recorded three assists in a 6-4 win against the Belleville Bulls on Friday. Dal Colle continued to excite on Sunday with three points in a 3-2 win over the Owen Sound Attack. Dal Colle leads the Generals with a 2.11 points-per-game average.

CHL Subway Super Series

Dal Colle and fellow Islanders 2014 first-round draft pick Joshua Ho-Sang represented the OHL in the 2014 Subway Super Series, which pits the best players from the Canadian Hockey League against a select team of Russian junior players. Ho-Sang dazzled with a penalty shot goal and added two assists in a 5-1 win for the OHL All-Stars over the Russians on Monday. Dal Colle played in both games against the Russian All-Stars, finishing with one assist in the 5-1 win.

Bridgeport Sound Tigers:  10-6-1-1, 3rd in Northeast Division, 5th in Eastern Conference

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers cooled down after winning six consecutive games and eight of the last nine, losing to the Springfield Falcons, Hartford Wolf Pack and Albany Devils last week. Ryan Pulock continued a five-game goal streak, scoring twice against the Falcons in a 5-2 loss on Friday night. Pulock now leads all AHL rookies with eight goals  in 18 games. On Saturday, the Sound Tigers fell 2-1 in overtime to the Wolf Pack despite goaltender Kevin Poulin stopping 28-of-30 shots against.The Sound Tigers finished the weekend with a 5-2 loss to the Devils on Sunday. Kael Mouilierat scored two points in the three games to tie forward Harry Zolnierczyk for the team lead in points  with 17 points in 18 games.

Stockton Thunder: 7-10-0, 6th in Pacific Division, 9th in Western Conference

The Stockton Thunder are playing their best hockey of the season thanks to a three-game winning streak. On Thursday morning, the Thunder beat the Bakersfield Condors 3-2 on two goals from Tyler Shattock and 29 saves from Shane Owen. The offense continued scoring on Saturday in a 7-4 win over the Condors. Kent Simpson, acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks as part of the trade for defenseman Nick Leddy, earned his first win with the Thunder while six different players found the back of the net. Forward Tyler Maxwell led the way with two goals and two assists. Maxwell now leads the Thunder with 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 16 games. The Thunder kept rolling on Sunday, sweeping Bakersfield with a 4-1 win. Four different players scored in the victory and Owen managed to stop 36-of-37 shots against.
