Cammarata, Russo each post four-point weekends:

Taylor Cammarata helped the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers sweep in-state rival Bemidji State over the weekend, scoring a goal and three assists in the pair of wins. Cammarata led the way with three points Friday, tallying one goal and adding two assists in a 5-2 win. The next day, Cammarata recorded one assist as the Golden Gophers beat the Beavers 5-3.

Meanwhile, in South Bend, Indiana, Robbie Russo recorded four points as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish handed the Niagara University Purple Eagles two losses. The defenseman scored twice on Friday night in a 6-3 win and added two assists on Saturday in a 7-0 rout.

Bridgeport Sound Tigers:  4-2-0-1, 3rd in Northeast Division, 6th in Eastern Conference

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers split their weekend series with the St. John’s IceCaps in St. John’s Newfoundland. Kevin Poulin made 38 saves on Saturday and Jesse Graham forced overtime, but the Sound Tigers fell to the reigning Eastern Conference champions 2-1 in a shootout. Bridgeport rebounded the following day, taking the rematch 5-3. Griffin Reinhart, Ryan Pulock and Mike Halmo each scored a goal and an assist, while David Leggio turned aside 26 shots for the win. Johan Sundstrom and Chris Langkow rounded out the scoring for the Sound Tigers, while Alan Quine notched two assists.

Stockton Thunder: 3-2-0, 2nd in Pacific Division, T-2nd in Western Conference

The ECHL Stockton Thunder split their weekend series with the Alaska Aces, winning on Saturday night after losing on Friday. Shane Owen stopped 49-of-50 shots on Saturday, while Ryan Hayes scored twice in the 4-1 win. The Thunder also scored four goals on Friday night, but lost 6-4. James Henry recorded three points (1G, 2A) on Friday and added an assist in Stockton’s win Saturday.
