Jesse Graham, Victor Crus Rydberg and Kyle Burroughs Debut In Bridgeport


Three Islanders draft picks – Jesse Graham, Victor Crus Rydberg and Kyle Burroughs – made their professional debuts last week for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Graham had the most successful debut, scoring two assists in his first two games on Saturday and Sunday. Burroughs played his first pro game on Tuesday, April 1, while Crus Rydberg played his on Friday, April 4. Both players were held off the scoresheet. All three players were signed to amateur tryout contracts last week. 

Bridgeport Sound Tigers:  27-36-2-5, 4th in Northeast Division, 13th in Eastern Conference

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers had a tough weekend, dropping games to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Adirondack Phantoms and Hershey Bears. The Sound Tigers lost 3-0 to the Penguins on Friday night, but earned a point in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Phantoms on Saturday. Former UConn Huskies forward Brant Harris scored his first professional goal on Sunday, but the Sound Tigers could not hold a third-period lead, as they fell 5-4 to the Bears.

Stockton Thunder: 32-30-1-6, 3rd in Pacific Division, 7th in Western Conference

The Stockton Thunder and won all three of their games over the weekend. The Thunder swept a two-game set from the Grizzlies, winning 3-2 on Friday night and 5-2 on Saturday. Andrew Clark scored three goals over the two games – one on Friday and two on Saturday – while Joey Martin also scored in back-to-back games. Ryan Hayes, Marc Cantin and Landon Oslanski rounded out the scoring against the Grizzlies. On Sunday, the Thunder won their third in a row, defeating the Ontario Reign 4-2. Jeremy Langlois and Matt Mangene scored 55 seconds apart, while Joey Diamond netted the eventual winner at the end of the first period. Ryan Constant scored the insurance marker for Stockton.
