This season, NewYorkIslanders.com has brought you updates on the Isles junior, collegiate and European prospects. Whether these players were beginning their collegiate careers, or cementing their junior legacies, the organization's prospects took strides in their development.
After tracking these prospects all season, take a look back at some of the standout moments in the Islanders Prospect Report wrap-up.

KIEFFER BELLOWS SETS TEAM USA GOAL RECORD:

Kieffer Bellows lived up to his billing as a formidable goal scorer in his first Western Hockey League season, lighting the lamp 41 times in 56 games with the Portland Winterhawks.
For all the good things Bellows did with Portland, perhaps his best hockey was played on the international stage at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo.
Playing on home soil, Bellows scored nine goals in seven games, setting Team USA's single-tournament goals record, breaking Jeremy Roenick's previous mark of eight, set in 1989.
Bellows and Team USA took home the bronze medal at this year's World Juniors, the second medal for the Islanders' prospect after winning gold in 2017. Bellows was named as an alternate captain for the tournament and finished with 10 total points (9G, 1A).

DAVID QUENNEVILLE SETS TIGERS RECORDS:

David Quenneville wrapped up his WHL career in style, setting the Medicine Hat Tigers' franchise record for most points by a defenseman with 214.
Quenneville set the record on Feb. 9 passing Kris Russell, who previously held the mark with 196 points. Quenneville went on to pad his lead before the end of the season.
Setting the Tigers' all-time mark was just one of Quenneville's accolades this season. The Islanders 2016 seventh-round pick led all WHL defensemen in goals (26) and points (80), both career-highs.
Quenneville signed an entry-level contract with the Islanders on April 6 and appeared in three games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to finish the season. The 20 year old will be eligible to play in the American Hockey League next season with Bridgeport.

COCKERILL WINS HOCKEY EAST TITLE:

Logan Cockerill steadily improved throughout his rookie season with Boston University, culminating in a Hockey East title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
After going 11 games without a point to start the season, Cockerill recorded 20 points (8G, 12A) in the final 26 games, including a 10-game point streak from Jan. 26 to March 10. Cockerill's 10-game point streak was the longest in the Hockey East this year and he was named the Hockey East rookie of the week on March 12.
The Islanders' 2017 seventh-round pick played his best hockey at the right time of the season, scoring the series-clinching goal in the Hockey East quarterfinals against UConn. Cockerill also netted a goal in BU's 3-1 win over Cornell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

PASTUJOV MAKES THE FROZEN FOUR:

Three of the Islanders collegiate prospects, Logan Cockerill, Ben Mirageas and Nick Pastujov, qualified for the NCAA Tournament this season.
Pastujov and the University of Michigan made it the furthest, as Michigan advanced to the Frozen Four before losing to Notre Dame, but all three prospects won at least one game each.
Pastujov scored a goal and an assist in three tournament games, while Cockerill scored one goal in two games. Mirageas, a defenseman, was held pointless in his two contests.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
  • Arnaud Durandeau (2017, 6th round) set new career highs in goals (20), assists (33), points (53) and games played (67) this season, his third with the Halifax Mooseheads.
  • Ilya Sorokin (2014, 3rd round) won an Olympic gold medal with the Olympic Athletes from Russia in PyeongChang and advanced to the KHL Final with CSKA Moscow. Sorokin and CSKA lost in five games to Ak Bars Kazan.
