Tuesday night was “Islanders Night” for the Freeport Arrows, a local youth hockey organization. From 6pm to 9pm, the Islanders ICE Tour was on hand at the Long Beach Ice Arena and put together a special night for all the young members of the Arrows organization and their families. After a few hours on the ice, the Arrows made their way outside to discover the entire Family Fan Fest was set up for them to enjoy. All the kids and their families were able to race through the obstacle course, throw some hip checks in the moonbounce, or show off their skills by ripping shots in the slap shot booth. The biggest treat for the kids was that Trent Hunter was also on this stop of the ICE Tour. Trent signed autographs for all of the young players as well as their family and friends. “It’s great to come down and see so many kids playing hockey, especially in the summer months like this,” said Trent. “I hope they enjoy the game as much as I do and continue to keep playing such a great sport.” Be sure to check the ICE Tour schedule to see where the Islanders will be next and where you can meet one of your favorite players.
