Islanders Name Team For Quebec Pee-Wee Tournament

The New York Islanders are sending 20 of the top local pee-wee hockey players to the 59th Quebec International Tournament taking place in Quebec City in February.
Known as the "World Championships of Pee-Wee Hockey," the Quebec tournament is a prestigious pee-wee tournament featuring teams from around the United States, Canada and Europe. NHL legends like Wayne Gretzky, Patrick Roy and Mario Lemieux have played in the Quebec tournament, as has Islanders Head Coach Doug Weight.

Former Islander and 15-year NHL vet Arron Asham is the head coach of the Isles' Quebec Team, while Islanders General Manager Garth Snow, Islanders Skills Development Coach Bernie Cassell and Michael Kantor will serve as assistant coaches.

The Islanders Quebec Team is a tough lineup to crack, so as a reward, they dropped the ceremonial first puck at the Islanders-New Jersey Devils preseason game on Monday night.
Congratulations to the 18 players, representing six youth hockey organizations on making the team and representing the Islanders.
