Islanders Illustrated on MSG Plus

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders
The New York Islanders and MSG Plus are pleased to announce the creation of a new Islanders-themed series titled Islanders Illustrated. The show, produced by Islanders TV, will air on the television home of the Islanders, MSG Plus. The program will bring Islanders fans even closer to their favorite team and will debut on June 18 at 6:30 PM.

Islanders Illustrated will be the first television show produced by the Islanders' in-house production team, which for the past two years has produced thousands of hours of content for Islanders TV at

"We are extremely excited to expand the Islanders Illustrated brand onto the television screen and into the homes of our fans," said Islanders Vice President of Communications Josh Bernstein.

"Islanders Illustrated is already a successful print publication devoted to Long Island's only major league sports team. Our crew has been working diligently over the past few weeks on this all-access show and we can't wait to show our fans the first episode."

The premiere episode of Islanders Illustrated will run on June 18 at 6:30 pm on MSG Plus and will be repeated during the following week. Features scheduled to run in the episode include:
  • An exclusive interview with Islanders General Manager Garth Snow leading up to the NHL Entry Draft just days prior to leaving for Ottawa.
  • "Skates and Smarts:" A hands-on experience with Islanders veteran center Mike Sillinger teaching the art of the faceoff.
  • The popular Islanders TV segment "FYIslanders" where a panel discusses the top-three off-season issues concerning the Islanders.
"This is a show that will excite and inform our passionate fan base, and also bring new fans to the Islanders and the great game of hockey," said Islanders Sr. Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Operations Chris Dey. "We are proud to be working with MSG Plus on a project like this."

The program will run on a monthly basis during this summer and will air bi-weekly once the season starts in October. Fans can expect additional summer episodes in mid-July & mid-August.

"MSG Plus strives to capture the hope, passion and dedication of New York area fans," said Lydia Murphy-Stephans, Executive Vice President, Programming & Production, MSG Media.  "And Islanders Illustrated will certainly do that for Islanders fans."
