Islanders Future Goals Open Practice

On Wednesday, January 20th, the New York Islanders welcomed over 200 students from Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens to Northwell Health Ice Center for the teams’ practice. These students are participating in the Islanders Future Goals – Hockey Scholar program and attended practice to watch the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts from the digital course come to life on the ice. Islanders Director of Sports Performance, Sean Donellan, along with Director of Ice Engineering Deniz Yalvac spoke to the students about career opportunities in hockey and how math and science apply to the every day functions of these positions.
