David Ullstrom Since being recalled from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on February 25, David Ullstrom has found himself on the left wing of center Frans Nielsen, opposite right winger Josh Bailey. He has fit in almost seemlessly on the newly created unit and recreated chemistry that he'd found earlier in the season with Bailey. In 19 games with the Islanders this season, Ullstrom has five points (2g/3a). Before the call-up, Ullstrom had 41 points (17g/24a) in 67 AHL games, so look for the scoring to continue to translate to the NHL.
At 6"2, 195 lbs., Ullstrom's game has an edge. He works hard in the corners, finshes checks and has the skill and speed to make plays.
Ilya Kovalchuk The Russian star snapped a nine-game scoring drought when he put a pass from linemate Zach Parise passed the glove of Henrik Lundqvist to get the Devils on the board in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Rangers. He also set up a beautiful 2-on-1 for Jacob Josefson and Ryan Carter; the latter would score his third of the seaon.
Kovalchuk leads the Devils in scoring with 64 points (26g/38a). In his NHL career he has 32 points (16g/16a) against the Islanders.
Special teams notes: The Islanders have the third best road power play in the NHL at 21.8 percent. That will be matched by the Devils, who boast the second best home penalty kill in the league at 88 percent.
Hot hands: Josh Bailey has four goals in his last four games...Matt Moulson has six points (3g/3a) in his last six games... Frans Nielsen has four assists in his last four games...Casey Cizikas has three assists in his last three games...PA Parenteau has 12 points (4g/8a) in his last 14 games. Moulson's Career Highs: Matt Moulson added to his career-best assist and point totals with his 27th assist and 28th goals on March 3rd in Boston. He is two goals shy of posting his third-straight 30-goal season and three goals shy of tying his career high.
Anders Nilsson stopped all 24 shots he faced as the Islanders beat the Devils 1-0 on Mar. 4 at Nassau Coliseum. Nilsson became the first Islanders goalie to record a shutout on his first career win and Kyle Okposo powered his way through traffic to score the game-winning goal at 2:39 of the second period.

Answer from Sunday's question: Islanders’ players have worn 77 different numbers on the back of their jerseys. What is the lowest number never worn by an Islander in the last 40 years? The answer is: 61. The numbers 1-60 had all been worn by an Islander at some point, but 61 is still vacant.

Jack Capuano on what the Islanders need to do against the Devils: "They have great separation in their offensive zone play. They have the ability to puck protect so well. You're going to have to do a good job blocking pucks becuase they are going to have puck possession. They are going to hem you in and they are going to have extended zone time. we have to make sure we play the interior and branch out and block lanes."
