The New York Islanders announced today that they are holding an auction with one-of-a-kind experiences and items to raise funds for area residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.
One lucky fan, age 14 years or younger, will have the opportunity to climb behind the Islanders bench during a future home game at Nassau Coliseum. The winner of this auction item will get more up close and personal with their favorite team than ever before. They’ll shadow the Islanders Equipment Manager during pre-game warm-ups, intermissions and post-game, plus receive four tickets to the game.
Also up for auction is a VIP experience with Howie Rose and Butch Goring, the Islanders MSG television announcers. This winner receives four tickets to an Islanders home game and will sit behind the TV tandem for the duration of the contest, with the chance to discuss the game in between periods.
Another exclusive experience available in the Islanders auction is the once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch a game at Nassau Coliseum with the Islanders General Manager, Garth Snow, from his private suite. The winner of this auction can be joined by up to three guests for the birds-eye view next to Snow.
Other auction items include:
• Islanders VIP experience for kids under 14 featuring high-fives with the players and a seat on the bench during warm-ups
• New York Mets VIP experience featuring a trip to Batting Practice and welcome on the scoreboard, to go along with four tickets
• Autographed Amar’e Stoudemire New York Knicks jersey
• Mets Media Experience featuring a trip to the press box to watch part of a game with radio play-by-play announcer Howie Rose, in addition to four tickets
**All proceeds raised from these auctions will go directly to the American Red Cross’ Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund to assist Long Islanders in need. Donations are tax deductible. To view the auction items and start bidding, CLICK HERE. Bidding closes Nov. 30.
