The New York Islanders announced today that left wing Micheal Haley
has been assigned to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Haley led the team in penalty minutes with 26, during the Islanders 2011 preseason schedule. He also added one assist and finished with a +1 rating in four games.
The Oshawa, ON native played 27 games for the Islanders last season, scoring two goals and an assist for three points. He also accumulated 85 penalty minutes. Haley received his first NHL call-up during the 2009-10 season where he played in two games and had nine penalty minutes.
Over the last four seasons, Haley has played in 196 games with the Sound Tigers, scoring 48 points (25 goals and 23 assists) and totaling 514 penalty minutes.
Haley joins the group of players that were assigned to Bridgeport earlier today.
