UNIONDALE, NY - June, 22, 2010 – The New York Islanders announced today the release of their 2010 pre-season schedule. The Islanders will play 5 games in 5 locations, including games in Saskatoon, SASK, and Quebec City and the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
On Wednesday, September 29, the Islanders will open the pre-season with a pair of split-squad games. The first matchup will take place at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, SASK, when they face-off against the Calgary Flames. The Islanders second split-squad game will take place at the Wachovia Center against the defending Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia Flyers, that same night. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. local times.
The Islanders’ third game of the preseason is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, October 1 as they’ll travel to the Prudential Center to take on the New Jersey Devils.
The following night, Saturday, October 2, the Islanders will closeout their pre-season with another pair of split-squad games. One Islander team will complete the backend of a home-and-home series with New Jersey, Saturday night at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, while a second squad will take on the Montreal Canadiens at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City. Face-off for both games is set at 7 p.m.
Other New York Islanders upcoming events include the Draft Party, at on Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Nassau Coliseum, and the Blue and Orange Scrimmage and Skills Competition featuring up and coming Islanders stars on Saturday, July 10 at the Coliseum.
