Raty

The New York Islanders have agreed to terms with forward Aatu Räty on a three-year entry-level contract.

Räty, selected in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft, has 59 points (22 goals, 37 assists) in 79 games with Kärpät's under-20 team in Finland's under-20 SM-liiga and 10 points (five goals, five assists) through two seasons with Kärpät of Finland's Liiga. He played in the 2021 World Junior Summer Showcase for Team Finland and led the tournament in scoring with 14 points (six goals and eight assists) in six games.
In 2020-21, he recorded six points (three goals, three assists) in 35 games for Kärpät and made his Liiga postseason debut. A native of Oulu, Finland, Räty helped his country to a silver medal in the 2019 under-17 World Hockey Challenge and represented Finland at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. The Islanders selected the 6'2", 185 lbs. forward with their first selection of the 2021 NHL Draft in the second round, 52nd overall.
