The New York Islanders have acquired forward Dmytro Timashov from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for future considerations.
Timashov has spent the last two seasons in the NHL with the Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs, scoring four goals and five assists for nine points in 44 games.

The Kirovograd, Ukraine native was a member of the Toronto Marlies 2018 American Hockey League Calder Cup championship team, scoring 12 points (six goals and six assists) in 20 playoff games. Timashov played three seasons with the Marlies, totaling 107 points (38 goals and 69) in 202 games.
The 5'10, 192-pound forward was selected by the Maple Leafs in the fifth round (125th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Prior to his pro career, Timashov played two seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Quebec Remparts and the Shawinigan Cataractes. He averaged well over a point-per-game with 175 points (41 goals and 134 assists) in 123 games.
