Valentin Zykov is a power forward-type player. He protects the puck well and uses his size and strength to his advantage. Zykov won't dazzle anyone with 1-on-1 skill, but can play the game well in the trenches. He has a good hard shot, quick release and likes to score.

Frederik Gauthier established himself on the QMJHL stage with a solid performance during his QMJHL rookie season. Gauthier finished fourth among first-year players with 60 points (22 goals, 38 assists) in 68 games. He also earned a gold medal while chipping in offensively for Team Canada at the U-18 World Junior Championship in Sochi, Russia with four points (one goal, three assists) in seven games.

Frederick Gauthier is a big, left handed center. He has good skill, and plays the game with a great deal of precision. He doesn't get ahead of the play, supports the puck well all over the ice and is diligent in his thought process. Gauthier has the ability to be both an offensive weapon and/or a responsible two-way player.
