The nephew of former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb, Darnell Nurse is considered one of the top defensive prospects in this year’s draft. In his second OHL season, Nurse tallied 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) and a team-leading 116 PIM in 68 games. He also reversed his plus/minus from minus-15 his rookie season to a plus-15 rating in 2012-13.

Chris Edwards, NHL Central Scouting:
“He’s the kind of guy who is not going to make a lot of mistakes. He’s steady and solid, and you can trust him out there. Anytime you get a guy his size, who skates as well as he does and plays a physical game, it’s fun to watch.”

This past season Sean Monahan finished as the Ottawa 67’s leading scorer with 78 points (31 goals, 47 assists) in 58 games. This was the second straight season the Brampton, Ontario native finished with 78 points, and his first as team captain. He also played in the CHL top prospects game, which features players from the OHL, QMJHL, and WHL.
