Originally undrafted in the 14-round 2008 WHL Bantam Draft, Colton Sissons still made his mark in his first two years with the Kelowna Rockets. In 2011-12, the Vancouver, B.C. native captained the Rockets in just his second WHL season, and tied for third on the team with 41 points in 58 games. Sissons is seen as one of the premier two-way forwards eligible in this year’s draft and scouts say he is capable of playing any of the three forward positions. Tomas Hyka went undrafted in 2011, his first year eligible for the NHL Draft, but shot up the rankings this past season after crossing the Atlantic to play his first season in North America. The Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic native first gained recognition as an invitee to Philadelphia Flyers rookie camp last summer. Playing with Gatineau of the QMJHL this past season, he built on that recognition by leading the Olympiques in scoring with 64 points (20 goals, 44 assists). The 5’11”, 160-pound right winger has especially stood out to scouts for his skating ability.
Brenden Kichton, Islanders prospect
Colton Sissons has a great shot, a tremendous shot actually. He’s a good skater who competes hard. He has just a good all-around skill level.

Trent Klatt, Islanders Player Development
Colton Sissons is a big, power forward player. He gets up and down the ice, is responsible at both ends and has a knack for scoring goals.

Trent Klatt, Islanders Player Development
Tomas Hyka is a slick playmaking all-purpose player. He skates well, sees the ice well and shows the ability to make plays.
