The New York Islanders are reaching out to their fans to help tackle hunger this Thanksgiving. Teaming up with Island Harvest, the Islanders will host a food drive prior to the game on Wednesday, November 24 against the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. and on Friday, November 26 against the New Jersey Devils at 1 p.m.
“The New York Islanders each year make a commitment to help those in need in our community,” said Ann Rina, Islanders Community Relations Manager. “Island Harvest is an outstanding organization that we have once again partnered with this holiday season. All of us here at the Islanders know the reality that many Long Islanders face in times of economic hardship. Helping families have a warm meal for the holidays is a gift we can help give our community.”
Fighting hunger and touching lives, Island Harvest serves as the bridge between those who have surplus food and those who need it, supplying over 570 community-based nonprofit organizations on Long Island with critical food support to help stem the advancing tide of hunger in our communities.
