Members of the Islanders Business Club helped ring in the Thanksgiving holiday a few hours early Wednesday night prior to the Islanders game against Penguins. More than 300 companies were well represented at the IBC's fourth event of the season, held in the Expo Hall of the Coliseum.
Kicking off the event at 5pm was the IBC's first-ever "Speed Networking" session, which engaged 70 IBC members to a speed version of business card and conversation exchange. Over the course of the 45-minute activity, members were rotated around 10 different tables to explain what kind of business they were involved in, and also to learn what others did.
"We decided to do our own version of speed dating and coin it as speed networking," said Islanders Business Club Executive Director Mike Bossy. "Our members loved our first attempt at this activity and were able to each grab over 30 business cards from their fellow members. The feedback was spectacular and we'll be sure to do this again in the future for more folks to participate in."
The bright lights of MSG+ were also on hand at the IBC headquarters, as the TV network filmed their live pre-game show, intermission reports and post-game shows on site. Also adding to the excitement was that Islanders Illustrated
host Shawna Ryan was filming segments for an upcoming episode of the show at the IBC.
The next IBC event will take place Tuesday, December 16th at 5pm prior to the Islanders game against the Washington Capitals.Click here
