Despite some early morning rain, the I.C.E. Tour traveled into downtown Manhattan on Saturday morning, May 2, to be a part of the day long Tribeca Film Festival. The I.C.E. Tour was a part of the Family Festival sports portion of the event, which took place on N. Moore Street between Greenwich Street and West St. Joining the Islanders were other professional teams like the New York Knicks, the New Jersey Devils, New York Giants and many more. Radio station 1050 ESPN was broadcasting live from the event, and live BMX performances took place right next to where the children were enjoying the interactive inflatables the Islanders provided. Sparky the Dragon and the Ice Girls were also on hand at the event. Sparky was on the main stage of the festival, throwing shirts into the crowd and dancing for all of his young fans. Right next to the Islanders’ interactive set up was a table for fans to walk away with great Islanders prizes as well as sign up for the brand new Islanders Kids Club. With the weather turning out being much better than expected, it ended up being a great day in lower Manhattan.
