Greiss Gets Assist, Stays Undefeated at Worlds

by Cory Wright / New York Islanders

Thomas Greiss
was getting it done at both ends of the ice on Monday.

The Islanders’ goalie made 14 saves in Germany’s 4-2 win over Hungary at the 2016 IIHF World Championships and chipped in offensively, adding an assist on the game’s final goal – an empty netter.

Is there anything he can’t do right now?

With the win, the Islanders’ goalie improved to 3-0 at Worlds, helping Germany (4-0-1-2, W-OTW-OTL-L) reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2011. The quarters will be played on Thursday, though Germany’s opponent is yet to be determined.
