There is not a bigger player in the NHL than Zdeno Chara. At 6-9, Chara is the only player above seven feet tall in the NHL while on skates.
His physical presence around the net and along the boards is daunting. Despite his size, Chara skates well for a big man and his reach makes up for any lack of speed.
The Islanders are a grind-it-out team that loves to use the boards to their advantage. With the big Slovak on the other side, the Islanders offense might have to get the puck to the point or in the slot in order to create scoring chances.Islanders Leaderboard Through 18 GamesGoals

- Islanders are one win away from 1,200 all-time.
SUBPLOTS Who comes out fresher in the back-to-back?
- Rick DiPietro earned his 100th career NHL victory (100-85-8-14 in 221 games) on 11/19 at NYR.
- Islanders recorded their 500th all-time road win on 11/19 at NYR.
- Mike Sillinger recorded his 300th NHL assist on 11/3 vs. PIT.
- Mike Sillinger played in his 1,000th NHL game on 11/1 vs. TBL.
- Ruslan Fedotenko tallied his 100th assist on 10/5 at BUF.
When two teams play those rare back-to-back games against one another, the question is, who will have more jump in Game 2.
The Islanders are 2-1 this season on the back end of a back-to-back sequence, while Boston is 2-1-1.
The Islanders will get an advantage, while being at home, and to have added jump after Friday's loss.Rick vs. Thomas or Rick vs. Rask?
All signs are pointing to Rick DiPietro
playing in both games this weekend. Following Wednesday loss to Montreal, when asked if he's sit out a game this weekend, DiPietro replied by saying "I'm feeling fresh and want to play in as many games as I can. I can't see myself sitting against Boston."
The bigger question is will Tim Thomas play in back-to-back games. With Manny Fernandez injured, rookie Tuukka Rask had his first go in an NHL game on Tuesday and defeated Montreal 4-2.
Will the Islanders see a more familiar foe in Thomas or a newcomer in Rask? Stay tuned.Islanders vs. Bruins All-Time Series:All-Time:
