The New York Islanders return to Barclays Center to host the New Jersey Devils in preseason action tonight at 7:30 p.m.

The Islanders (2-1-0) and Devils (1-1-0) played the first NHL game in Brooklyn last September, with the Devils skating to a 3-0 win.

Both teams are coming off losses as the Islanders dropped a 4-2 decision to the Carolina Hurricanes Wednesday night at Nassau Coliseum, while the Devils were shut out 4-0 by the Philadelphia Flyers Thursday.

Ahead of tonight's game, the Islanders skated at Islanders Iceworks in Syosset, breaking off into three groups. Here are some news, notes and quotes from today's skate.

UPDATE: CHAD JOHNSON WILL START IN GOAL FOR THE ISLANDERS

Head Coach Jack Capuano is giving the Islanders a different look Thursday, swapping out seven forwards, five defensemen and his two goaltenders.  Travis Hamonic draws in on defense and the third and fourth lines go through a wholesale change.
