Islanders vs. Tampa Bay

(7:30 p.m. ET, TV: FSN NY | Radio: Bloomberg 1130) Tonight the Islanders host the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Nassau Coliseum before embarking on a five-game road trip -- the longest of the season. A win by the Islanders would put them back in first place in the Atlantic Division.

Jason Blake continues to produce, scoring in his fourth consecutive game on Saturday. Blake is now tied for tenth in the NHL in goals with eight. Blake's six power play goals is fourth best in the league. Alexei Yashin also continued a four-game point-scoring streak where he's compiled two goals and four assists. Yashin leads the team with 17 points.

Tampa Bay comes into tonight's game having lost four of their last five games, including Saturday's contest against Boston by the score of 6-5, in overtime. Two bright spots for the last place Lightning are former Hart Trophy winner, Martin St. Louis and Vincent Lecavalier, who are both sporting an eight-game point-scoring streak. St. Louis has posted nine goals and 14 assists in that stretch while Lecavalier has compiled six goals and nine assists. During the streak, St. Louis scored a hat trick against Carolina on October 26.

Lightning head coach John Tortorella was very outspoken about his goaltending problem last year, but no longer has Sean Burke or John Grahame to worry about between the pipes. Marc Denis formerly of the Columbus Blue Jackets has seen most of the time in goal this year, but Johan Holmqvist posted his first career victory in the team's only win in the past five games, a 5-2 defeat of Philadelphia on Thursday.

Chris King and Steve Mears have the call on Bloomberg Radio 1130 while Howie Rose and Billy Jaffe can be seen tonight on FSN NY.
